Cumberland Falls State Resort Park home to the "Niagara of the South" is nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest. 125 feet wide waterfall dropping 68' to a boulder strewn gorge is dramatic by day or night. Easy access and a short walk to standing with the falls at your feet. The resort sitting along side the Cumberland River offers a lodge with newly renovated rooms or beautiful, fully furnished cabins. Riverview Restaurant located in the historic DuPont Lodge offers a wonderful array of local favorites and delicious desserts. A gift shop offering Kentucky handmade crafts are located in the falls viewing area. Cumberland Falls is the only place to see a "moonbow". A lunar rainbow appears in the base of the waterfall when the sky is clear and the moon is full. You also may see the moonbow two nights prior or after the night of the full moon.  (more details)
